  Pre-Race Reports - East London - 29.10.2011

The Road to the Final...

Saturday 22 October will see the enthusiastic drivers of the AVL Africa / Logisticor 250 Superkart Series make the long trip down to the East London Grand Prix Circuit for the penultimate round of the 2011 racing season.

This historic racing circuit is a firm favourite with many drivers and is known to be the fastest circuit in the country with top speeds of over 260km/h well within reach of these super fast pocket rockets!

Veron Pappas (Graham Singer Racing PVP Superkart) only needs a podium finish in one of the two heats on the day to clinch the 2011 AVL Africa / Logisticor 250 Superkart Title. He will no doubt be aiming for nothing less than a double victory for the weekend.

Pappas will be aiming for a double victory once again...

The battle for second and third position remains close. Sean Moore (Logisticor PVP Superkart) is now only nine points ahead of young Andrew Greenslade (AVL Africa Rotax Superkart). Either driver is capable of scoring a podium finish. They will both be determined to maximise their individual points.

Eerik Horn (OTTR PVP Rotax) has jumped up to fourth position after his first win in the series at the previous round. Tyron Davis (AVL Africa PVP Superkart) drops down to fifth position after missing the Midvaal event but is still only six points behind Horn.

Close racing between Moore, Greenslade and Horn is expected...

The battle behind the top six positions is just as close. Schalk Burger Junior (Cape Gearbox & Diff PVP Yamaha Superkart) will be making a welcome return to the series and will no doubt be determined to upset a few of the regulars. Steve Lavender (Anderson Superkart) is only three points behind the Cape Town driver with series newcomer Trevor Green (Rotax Superkart) a further seven points behind them.

Schalk Burger Senior (Cape Gearbox & Diff Anderson Rotax Superkart) will also make a welcome return to the field and will be determined to have a better result than the bad luck he experienced in Port Elizabeth earlier in the season.

Two stalwarts of Superkart racing have also decided to make a late season return to the series. Virgil Pappas (Rotax PVP) will join his younger brother on the track and could spring a few surprises on a couple of the regulars. KZN resident Patrick Mc Gee (Rotax Stealth) will also rejoin the field in what promises to be a fast paced and adrenaline fuelled affair.
