The title chase continues...
The AVL Africa / Logisticor 250 Superkart Series will head to Midvaal Raceway in
the Vaal Triangle on Saturday 3 September for the sixth round of the 2011
Championship. This will be the first time since 2009 that these 260km/h pocket
rockets will be taking to the Midvaal circuit in anger.
Veron Pappas (Graham Singer Racing PVP Superkart) has all but sown up the 2011
title provided that he finishes the 3 remaining races on the podium. Pappas will
definitely be keen to prove that his dominance of the first five events was no
fluke.

Pappas will be looking for maximum points...

The battle for second and third position is getting rather close however. After
suffering from a few technical issues with his new kart over the last couple of
races, Sean Moore (Logisticor PVP Superkart) has dropped back into the clutches
of Team AVL Africa drivers Tyron Davis (AVL Africa PVP Superkart) and Andrew
Greenslade (AVL Africa Rotax Superkart).
Davis is only six points behind Moore with Greenslade a further three points
behind his team mate. Davis’ chances will however be blown out of the water
though as he will miss the Midvaal event due to work commitments. Greenslade
will therefore have to fly the flag for the AVL Africa team as he sets about
trying to close the gap between himself and Moore.

Greenslade will be flying the flag for his team...
Eerik
Horn (OTTR PVP Rotax) finds himself in a very safe fifth position. He has proved
that he has the pace on more than one occasion this season but has been affected
by various mechanical and brake issues as well. He will be looking forward to
finding more consistency at this race to stay with the leading pack.

Giles Moore (Rotax Superkart) is expected to return to the track in the spare
AVL Africa sponsored kart and could very well threaten for a podium position.
Trevor Green (Rotax Superkart) will also be hoping for better luck on the engine
side of things. Mechanical gremlins have plagued him all season and he will be
keen to finish both races this time around.
Ivor Horne (Dino Rotax Superkart) will once again return in the only vintage
kart in the series and will be looking to find a bit more pace in the classic
racer. On The Track Racing Magazine’s Editor, Vaughn Obhlidal (Rotax Superkart),
will be making a cameo appearance in the ex – Greenslade kart and could very
well challenge the leading pack for a points position.

Ivor Horne will be back in the classic Dino Superkart...
The AVL Africa / Logisticor 250 Superkart drivers are expected to reach top
speeds of over 250km/h down the back straight at the Midvaal Raceway. Don’t miss
out on seeing these spectacular racing machines in action!
